A native Texan and long-time Austinite, Tom delivers unparalleled service and results far beyond the mere transaction. Inherently driven, he has earned an MBA, the title of Broker Associate, and several of the nation’s top real estate designations, including Certified Residential Specialist (CRS, held by less than 3 percent REALTORS® nationwide), Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), Graduate – REALTOR® Institute (GRI), GREEN, and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES). Working toward fluency in Spanish by way of annual immersion studies in Puebla, Mexico, Tom is also committed to building bridges across cultures.
Before real estate, Tom’s extensive and decorated career in marketing, advertising and publishing included work with some of the world’s most renowned firms while at Young & Rubicam and J. Walter Thompson. Providing brand management and marketing strategy services for companies like Yahoo! Pfizer, Sony, and Merrill Lynch helped Tom build valuable methodology in his real estate practice. The processes he developed pinpoint and highlight a property’s points of distinction, coupling market data, aesthetics, and presentation with the long-term goals of his sellers.
Tom collaborates with trusted industry partners like professional photographers, home stagers, landscapers, and inspectors to improve and prepare each listing for maximum market impact. Driven by data, he stays on top of trends and formulates an innovative marketing strategy for each seller’s property.
Home buyers recommend and refer Tom because of his tenacity, calm demeanor and attention to detail. Tom’s skillful negotiation style and deep community network empowers his buyer clients and ensures they don’t miss opportunities or pay too much for a property.
In Tom’s downtime, he’s also an accomplished culture writer (as seen in Texas Monthly, Thrillist, Eater, and The Austin Chronicle, to name a few.) He specializes in restaurant, cocktail, wine, and music/food festival coverage, and has even earned a Certified Sommelier designation from the Court of Master Sommeliers. He’s also a board member for two nonprofit organizations, Austin ISD’s Oak Hill Elementary School and the Austin Food and Wine Alliance, and an investor in Austin’s acclaimed Jester King Brewery. Tom’s cultural and city expertise helps new Austin residents understand the local scene for music, food, festivals, and family events.
Tom is based in Southwest Austin with his wife (an educator) and two daughters.
