That said, many local residents also consider the area just south of this pocket (between Enfield and Lake Austin Blvd.) to be a de facto part of the neighborhood, as they share a neighborhood association and use most of the same shops and services.

What is the average price of the homes in Tarrytown? In 2008, single-family homes have sold for anywhere from $260,000 (a 650-square foot teardown) to upwards of $4,000,000 (a 5,000-square foot, lakefront mansion). The average sales price for the neighborhood was roughly $750,000 in 2008, with the median coming in at $649,000. There are also some condominiums in the area, most of which are in the $225,000 to $500,000 price range.

What is the average age of the homes in Tarrytown? There are a number of homes from the late 30's and early 40's in the area, which gives the neighborhood tremendous character. There are also an increasing number of new construction homes (conforming to neighborhood design standards), as some of the smallest homes have made way for newer, larger ones.

Where do people go out to eat in Tarrytown? For upscale dining, Zoot is a neighborhood favorite. Maudie's on Lake Austin Blvd. has great Tex-Mex, and Magnolia Cafe is a popular Texas 24-hour diner. Mangia Pizza is also popular, and Chuy's themed restaurant, Hula Hut, offers casual lakeside dining and drinks. Mozart's Coffee is another hot spot for coffee and snacks.

Where do people shop for groceries in Tarrytown? There are two Randall's Grocery locations in the neighborhood, both on Exposition Boulevard. You're also reasonably close to the flagship Whole Foods Market on 5th and Lamar downtown.

Where do people workout in Tarrytown? Reform Pilates and Curves Tarrytown are two good places to start. The neighborhood itself also has a number of quiet residential streets for jogging and cycling.

What is the traffic like when commuting to downtown? No freeway driving is required, and Exposition Road connects Lake Austin Blvd., Enfield, and Windsor as potential access routes to downtown. In short, it's an easy commute.

How long does it take to commute downtown from Tarrytown? 10 minutes. It's a 3-mile drive with several traffic lights.

How long does it take to drive to the airport from Tarrytown? From Tarrytown, it's a 19-mile, 30-minute drive to Austin-Bergstrom.
