The Odyssey School for children with learning disabilities is also nearby. Pre-school options near the Hyde Park area include The Montessori Center (ages 2 to 6) and All Saints' Episcopal School (Pre-K and K). Area outdoor amenities in 78751 and Hyde Park include Hancock Golf Course is the nearest public course and is very popular. Shipe Park and Pool is the nearest neighborhood park, and it features basketball courts, tennis courts, and a playground. Adams-Hemphill Park and Eastwoods Park and Wading Pool are directly south of the neighborhood, near the UT campus.For more information on the neighborhood, The Hyde Park Neighborhood Association is the primary community-based group in the area. 

Hyde Park homes are near many restaurants: Antonelli's Cheese, Asti, Hyde Park Bar and Grill, Mandola's Italian Food, Tacodeli, Uchi, Vino Vino, Hopfield's, The Blackbird and Henry, and the new eateries and pubs in the Triangle development (The Flying Saucer and Galaxy Cafe) are all current favorites. As for groceries, Austin's gourmet haven, Central Market, is nearby at 38th and Lamar. There's also a huge HEB Grocery at Hancock Center, just East of Hyde Park.
